Welcome To The Inside Blip!
There's a new site on the block, and the Web will never be the same!
It's been a while coming, but Inside Blip has finally launched.
Founded by Quantum Global Media Inc., Inside Blip is the new flagship site of the BlipNetwork that includes sister sites Airlock Alpha -- the 11-year-old top source of science-fiction and fantasy entertainment news -- and Rabid Doll, which has been on the horror entertainment scene since 2007.
Ever since I first founded the site that would become Airlock Alpha back in 1998, I wanted to spread my wings into covering television entertainment on a broad scale, and not just sci-fi. But my focus has always been on the more niche aspect of it, and I simply could not break away.
But now thanks to the wonderful work and great creative minds we have at Quantum Global -- with people like chief technology officer Nick Chase, creative director Shane Churchman, and our editors Bryant Griffin, Alan Stanley Blair and Sherri Lonon -- it has finally came to fruition.
The whole specific idea of Inside Blip has been in development for nearly two years, and it wasn't until Shane returned to us last year that we pushed it into becoming an overall network of sites that we informally call the BlipNetwork.
What you are seeing now is the results of all that work from everyone involved. The look, feel, content, place on the Web -- all of that has continually evolved. Heck, even the name of the site itself has gone from several variations from my original name of "TV Plexus" to what you see now.
How will Inside Blip be different from other sites? That's a great question. There are a ton of television entertainment sites out there, and I'm a fan of many of them, acquainted (and even friends) with their owners. I am not here to compete with them. I'm here to fill a void that has been empty for a long time.
The Inside Blip reader is someone who doesn't just mindlessly watch TV. The Inside Blip reader is someone who wants to know the ins and the outs, but is not necessarily an "insider" so to speak. The trade publications like Variety and The Hollywood Reporter do a terrific job covering the industry, but they are designed for those who do television for a living, and not savvy viewers who like to take peeks behind the curtain.
That's what Inside Blip will do. You will find talk about the industry as a whole, why shows are on the bubble, what's working and what's not. You won't just get thrown numbers and idle speculation when it comes to ratings, you will get in-depth analysis on what Nielsen Media Research is providing from someone who has been recognized in the past for his knowledge of ratings.
And best of all, you will get your news from someone who knows how to get the best sources not just within shows, but within the networks and studios themselves. My track record isn't perfect, because no one who deals with rumors on top of news is, but put my reports against others and you will see that we stack up very well, if not better than others. The most recent example was with "Dollhouse" on Fox. When every single other news outlet said that show was a goner, we were the one lone voice that for months said the show had a chance to come back ... and we were right.
That's not luck ... that's good sourcing. And that's why we enjoy the large readership family that we have, which now includes you.
So welcome to the family, and welcome to Inside Blip!
