CBS Finds Leader For New International Strategy

Reed Manville will take charge of overseas efforts

CBS is serious about its new efforts to reach overseas, and is bringing in a familiar face to lead the effort.

Reed Manville is the new executive vice president of international channels for CBS Studios International, the company announced. Manville's main responsibilities will be to lead the creation of branded platforms for CBS in the United Kingdom based on six existing television channels owned by Chello Zone.

Manville also will oversee two CBS channels in Australia, TV1 an Sci Fi.

The new job will reunite Manville with Armando Nuñez, the president of CBS Studios International. The two worked together back in 2004 when Manville was executive vice president of International Channels for CBS Paramount International Television. More recently, however, CBS Studios International was a client of Manville, who ran a consulting company, and actually helped to establish the new alliance between CBS and Chello.

Manville also spent seven years overseeing international channels for Paramount International Television, and also was managing director for Global Networks-Asia for NBC Universal between 2006 and 2008.

CBS Studios International licenses to more than 200 markets through 30 languages. It also distributes content from CBS Television Studios, CBS Television Distribution, Showtime, CBS News, CBS Films and a library of more than 70,000 hours of programming.
