ABC Pulls 'FlashForward' From Schedule Until March
Will now join another freshman series 'V' on taking the bench
There wasn't much warning, but ABC has decided to give "FlashForward" a break.
The show, which was originally scheduled to return in January, will instead make its return in March, according to The Wrap. That will now put it in the same boat as ABC's other freshman sci-fi series "V," which will premiere around the same time.
The reason for the sudden move doesn't appear to be ratings, at least from what the network is saying. Instead, ABC says it's all about the Winter Olympics airing in February on NBC, and the lack of desire to give "FlashForward" more competition than it can handle.
Ratings have been an issue for "FlashForward." Numbers are off more than 22 percent since its premiere. However a full season of the show has been commissioned, which means there could be some two-hour events coming when it returns, otherwise, the show will end after the season ends, which wouldn't be very good for advertisers.
