'Chuck' Can't Stop 'Fringe' In Weekly Genre Ratings
However, there return of Zachary Levi's series shows significant promise
NBC seems to have made the right move by bringing back "Chuck" as early as it did, because it's certainly paying off in the ratings.
However, a solid three episodes wasn't enough to top a special Monday run of a previously unaired episode of Fox's "Fringe," which topped network genre programs for the week.
"Fringe" earned a 4.7 rating/7 share in Fast National ratings from The Nielsen Co., despite losing a significant chunk of audience from its "House" lead-in. It clobbered "Heroes" on NBC which, despite a strong lead-in from "Chuck," was only able to match a series low and finish ahead of only "Dollhouse" on Fox.
"Fringe," however, couldn't keep its momentum into Thursday. There, the series went back to normal, picking up a 4.0/6, good for fifth place behind three episodes of "Chuck" and its own Monday outing.
