Familiar faces will return to "Smallville" and they're not just from the show's own mythology, as, once again, the Superman-in-training series will open its doors to the DC Comics archives.

Actress Odessa Rae has been tapped to join the series for what could become a multi-episode arc as a new villain for the Man Of Steel. She will provide a new take on the character Siobhan McDougal, otherwise known as the Silver Banshee.

In the comics, Siobhan used the dark arts to take control of her family clan but, due to the interference of her brother, was indebted to a being known as The Crone. In payment for her newfound powers, The Crone demanded an occult book that belonged to her father ... one that is up for auction in Metropolis.

No details have been released on how much of the character will be alter for her "Smallville" debut, however TV Guide.com reports that Rae will first appear in the 16th episode, "Escape." Her character is described as being a vengeful Gaelic spirit that is accidentally released from the underworld who just happens to run into Lois (Erica Durance) and Clark (Tom Welling) at a bed and breakfast.
