Spielberg To Develop Dinosaur Drama For Fox?
Series would be Back To The Futuremeets Jurassic Park
If you have fond memories of watching Jurassic Park as a kid then youre going to love the latest project from 20th Century Fox television.
The Fox conglomerate is currently in talks to put together a prehistoric adventure series, backed by some of the industrys most notable names, including Jurassic Park director, Steven Spielberg. Entitled Terra Nova, the series will revolve around the lives of a family from 100 years in the future who are transported 150 million years back in time.
And, if Terra Nova does get the green light, it is expected to skip the pilot phase altogether and go straight into life as a series filled with elaborate sets and visual effects that will cause television audiences to swoon.
The original concept for Terra Nova was hatched by British scribe Kelly Marcel, with the script later being co-written with Craig Silverstein (who is currently involved in the remake of La Femme Nikkita for The CW). Apparently, Marcel has been trying to sell the project to British television networks and now that it has captured the attention of manager-producer Aaron Kaplan, Marcels idea was shopped to the American market.
Where does Spielberg come in? Well, if the project is given the go-ahead hell come onboard as an executive producer along with Peter Chernin. Both would also bring with them their respective partners from their own production companies, namely DreamWorks TV and Chernin Entertainment TV. Silverstein and Marcel would also serve as producers.
