GleeCast Thrilled Over White House Invite
Amber Riley and Chris Colfer tweet their delight
Its not every day that you get an invite to the White House, and the cast of Glee are stunned over receiving a personal invitation by the First Lady.
Michelle Obama has invited the entire cast of the series to perform at the annual White House Easter Egg Roll. And, as expected, they are more than up for the opportunity. Apparently, the entire Obama family are huge fans of the series and their request has resulted in a re-shuffling of production schedules to accommodate their request.
Amber Riley, who plays Mercedes on the series, has spoken out on her shock of being invited to such an event.
Singing at the white house, Riley tweeted. I'm in total disbelief... and I'm sleepy so I'm takina nap and will be more excited when my brain turns on.
She later posted, "I can't believe I slept that long! Gr8test nap EVER! So excited to meet my President and First Lady!!!! Yay!!!"
Her co-star, Chris Colfer, has also expressed his exhilaration about the experience..
"I'm so excited to go to the White House! And this time I'm invited, so security won't be chasing me!"
The Presidential event is scheduled to take place on April 5, just a week before the series returns with brand new episodes on April 13.
