'24' Moves Back Into Production
Jack is back and fans shouldn't even notice he was gone
Panic not; America's greatest action hero will be returning to work and Fox's real-time drama series, "24," will resume production.
As previously reported, shooting on the action-adventure series was halted last week after lead actor and producer, Kiefer Sutherland, opted to undergo surgery to remove a cyst near his kidney. The star chose to go under the precautionary procedure when the cyst ruptured.
"We are happy to report that production will resume March 1," a Fox representative said.
Fox have already confirmed that the unexpected delay in production will not affect the broadcast of 24 and the series will continue to air as previously planned.
In other "24" news, the series could be set to lose more of its stars this season as Katee Sackhoff (who plays CTU IT guru, Dana Walsh), who will likely be remembered for her role of Starbuck on Syfy's "Battlestar Galactica," has landed a role in ABC's Richard Hatem crime drama pilot. No details of the fate of her character have been revealed.
Meanwhile, David Anders has now been cast in a recurring role in The CW smash hit, "The Vampire Diaries." He will play Uncle Jonathan Gilbert who will come to Mystic Falls to cause all sorts of trouble.
"24" airs Mondays at 9 p.m. ET on Fox.
