Kissing Mr. Schu Was Awkward
Jayma Mays talks about the big 'Glee' smooch, and Emma's germ-phobia
When the curtain closed on Fox's "Glee" following its mid-season finale, viewers finally got something they've wanted since day one; a hook-up between Will Schuester (Matthew Morrison) and Emma Pillsbury (Jayma Mays).
Now while the development may have sent fans jumping for joy it did cause a bit of awkwardness on the set of the series.
"I jumped up and down [when I saw the kiss] - but with my husband, which was awkward and weird," Mays told Zap2It. "He's really cool about that sort of thing - and I'm probably less so. It's never a natural thing to do that, so it's always really awkward."
What is next for her character? More fears, more phobias and more explanations, apparently.
"[I would] love to see Emma at home - in her home - and see how crazy that environment must be," she said. "I know we start seeing her problems a bit more and her problems with germs and phobias and all that, but I would love to see what they come up with for her house. Is it all sterilised? Is it all white? I would love to see that!"
Production schedules for the series have been updated after receiving an invitation to perform at the White House. First Lady Michelle Obama has invited the cast of the series to perform at the annual White House Easter Egg Roll and the whole team is thrilled to receive such an honor.
The special performance is not expected to impact the production timeframe of the show and "Glee" returns April 13.
