'Heroes' Star Trades Comics For Intelligence Briefings

'Heroes' isn't cold yet, but actor Sendhil Ramamurthy has now joined USA's 'Covert Affairs'

There has been no official word on the future of NBC's "Heroes," but actor Sendhil Ramamurthy has now found a new home in the world of international espionage.

The actor, who played Mohinder Suresh on the comic book series, has now been cast in USA's "Covert Affairs" spy-drama. He is coming on board the series after Eric Lively bowed out of the pilot.

"Covert Affairs" has been given what equates to a thirteen episode order (a 90-minute pilot followed by an 11 episode season). The series stars Piper Perabo as Annie Walker, a new recruit to the Central Intelligence Agency who is thrust into active status after he breaks up with an individual who is described as being of considerable interest to the agency.

"The O.C.'s" Peter Gallagher (who played Sandy Cohen on the teen drama) will also star in the series, alongside Kari Matchett (previously seen in "Invasion" and as a semi-regular face in the Gene Roddenberry adaptation, "Earth: Final Conflict"). Anne Dudek, Eion Bailey and Christopher Gorham also star.

The Bourne trilogy's Doug Liman with executive produce along with "The O.C.'s" Dave Bartis.
