Summer Glau Lands Lead Role In 'The Cape'
She will hunt corrupt cops, costumed bad guys in NBC pilot
Summer Glau has landed the lead role in NBC's superhero drama pilot "The Cape."
Playing Orwell, an investigative blogger, Glau continues her science fiction and fantasy roots as her character targets corrupt cops and costumed bad guys despite the risks.
She is joined by ER's David Lyons, who is cast as a former cop compelled to become a masked hero, the Cape, to clear his name of crimes he didn't commit.
Simon West, who recently helmed Fox's "Human Target" pilot, will direct.
Glau recently concluded her role on Fox's "Dollhouse" as scientist Bennett Halverson. Prior to that series she starred in "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles," and played River Tam in Joss Whedon's "Firefly" and its feature film offspring "Serenity."
