Jane Lynch: Sue Sylvester Still Shocks Me

'Glee' actress reveals that the content of some scripts surprise her

"Try living with Hepatitis, now that's hard."

If phrases like this shock you, you're definitely not the only one.

Actress Jane Lynch, who plays the mean-spirited coach Sue Sylvester on Fox's "Glee," has admitted that even she is shocked by some of the lines that her character hits out with.

"The funny thing about it [is], at the first draft of the script there's always something in there I have to go, 'I can't say this'," she revealed. "There was something about skinning a cat once - I can't talk about skinning a cat!"

At the recent "Glee" panel at the Paley Festival, some of Sue lines were revealed to have slipped past censors only to hit the cutting room floor for one reason or another. Among these classics are; "Shut your mouth before I rape it," as well as, "I will kick you square in the vagina" and also, "Rachel wears floor length denim skirts that make her look like she's escaped from a polygamist compound."

Despite such controversy, Lynch is thrilled to be Sylvester.

"Every week I'm shocked and delighted and very, very happy that Ian Brennan, who created my character and with basically writes all my lines, came up this idea."

And that's the way Sue sees it.

"Glee" returns on April 13.
