Lady GaGa Signs Up For 'Glee'
PLUS: Coldplay and Bryan Adams say no thanks
If you are a fan of Lady GaGa you can expect to see more than just a cover of her songs on Fox's "Glee," you will soon be seeing the artist herself.
Apparently, the artist has given her permission for her songs to be used in the series and has also agreed to a special appearance next season.
"We're doing an episode that's a tribute to theatricality," series creator Ryan Murphy said. "We reached out to Lady GaGa and she said, 'Yes, I'd love to be a part of it. So we will be doing Lady GaGa this season."
The announcement was made at the recent Paley Festival in Los Angeles, where it was also revealed that both Coldplay and Bryan Adams rejected the chance to have their songs covered in an episode of the series. With a No. 1 album that deposed Lady GaGa from the top of the UK charts, both artists will surely be reconsidering their decisions.
Also at the festival, Murphy thanks Madonna for her cooperation in developing a special tribute episode of the series.
"I've worked with Madonna before," he explained, according to Perez Hilton. "I admire her greatly and I'm friends with her a little bit socially. I called her up and wrote her a letter and said we want to write up a tribute to you and she said yes and she cooperated in every way possible. We do 10 songs altogether. Jane [Lynch] is going to do 'Vogue.'"
"Glee" returns April 13.
