In "Jericho," actress Ashely Scott survived the end of the world. But in "NCIS," she'll be lucky to survive a kidnapping.

Scott has signed on to appear in an upcoming episode of the crime drama series and will play a ZNN reporter named Dana Hutton. The character will mysterious vanish prompting an investigation to take place, leading one member of the NCIS team to take a special interest in the efforts of the investigation.

The episode will mark Scott's reunion with actor Michael Weatherly, who plays Tony DiNozzo on the series. The pair previously worked together on the Fox futuristic drama, "Dark Angel." On that series, Weatherly played Logan Cale (otherwise known as Eyes Only), an underground cyber-journalist, with Scott taking on the role of a love interest and contact in the underground.

How much of a long-running impact the case will have on DiNozzo has yet to be confirmed.

"NCIS" airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET on CBS.
