'Caprica' Ratings Inching Up, Network Says

March 5 episode best outing since series premiere

The audiences might not be coming out en masse, but at least they're not running away.

And that's a good thing for "Caprica" as it fights for a second season of life heading into its mid-season finale.

The March 5 episode of "Caprica" on Syfy pulled in 1.78 million viewers, the biggest audience since Jan. 29, and a 1.4 household rating, the highest since the series premiere.

That episode averaged a little more than 1 million viewers among adult 18 to 49 -- a 13-percent increase from the week before -- and more than 1.2 million adults 25 to 54, up 15 percent from the previous episode. Both are key audience demographics that advertisers like to target, especially on a cable channel like Syfy.

Fridays remain a tough night for many viewers to watch live, but many are jumping to their DVRs to make sure they are caught up on what's happening between the Adamas and the Graystones. More than 625,000 people tuned in to watch the show within a week from its original airing, including 476,000 adults 25 to 54 and 436,000 adults 18 to 49.
