Ouch ... 'V' Comes Back, And Few Notice
This can't be good news for the ABC series that is now officially on the bubble, if not already gone
The alien ships invaded major cities, but Morena Baccarin's character of Anna didn't invade too many television sets.
The return of "V" after a 126-day break hit ABC with a whimper, attracting a 4.5 rating/8 share in Fast National ratings from The Nielsen Co. That's down nearly 20 percent from its previous episode on Nov. 24, and 47 percent from its series premiere Nov. 3.
Tuesday's episode also was down 33 percent from its November average of a 6.7/10 before it was moved to its current 10 p.m. slot behind "Lost."
And speaking of "Lost," that show in its final season bounced back with a 6.2/10, its highest rating since Feb. 9, and more than 5 percent better than its season average. "Lost" grew its audience from last week by 15 percent, and is now off its premiere ratings by 10 percent.
"V" lost 27 percent of its "Lost" lead-in audience, despite posting "Lost"-like numbers before taking its four-month break.

I was annoyed with V when it took the break, it was like what, five episodes in or something? That was a bit soon to just leave us hanging. I imagine enough people just forgot about the show, I'll be interested to see if "Pound of Flesh" gets more viewers back than "Welcome to the War" did.
