"Project Runway" returns to Lifetime on July 29 with several welcome changes.
One thing that happily hasn't changed is the show is again in New York City for Season 8, still rebounding from Season 6 in Los Angeles.
Heidi Klum, Tim Gunn, Nina Garcia and Michael Kors will all be back, but the show will now be 90 minutes long and start at 9 p.m. ET.
Heidi also promises some more drama to go with the longer time period -- three designers collapse on set, with ambulance visits to follow.
Ninety minutes also gives more time to actually see the designers work, and more judging deliberations, which would help explain often bewildering feuds between designers and judges' decisions.
What isn't known is the fate of "Models of the Runway," the half-hour show that followed Runway and gave more background on the models. Presumably, some of that will be swept into the main Runway show.
Following "Runway" will be a new show for Lifetime, starring two former contestants. The 14-episode "On the Road with Austin and Santino" will follow Austin Scarlett from Season 1 and Santino Rice from Season 2 as they "travel to and immerse themselves in the culture of small towns across America to create new looks for special women in unique situations as they celebrate such life milestones as anniversaries, birthdays, balls, graduations and bachelorette parties."
