Foxs Glee will give Gleeks a chance to meet Coach Sylvesters mom next season, according to EW.com.
Long-time TV funny lady Carol Burnett will play the unseen mother of New Directionsnemesis, Jane Lynchs Sue Sylvester -- who was said in Season 1s The Power of Madonna to be a famous Nazi hunter.
Its a rare appearance by the Emmy-winning Burnett, who was last seen in episodic television in a guest shot on "Law and Order: SVU" in 2009 (which earned her an Emmy nomination). Details arent yet available, but Burnett apparently will be the only Sylvester parent to be showing up.
Glee was in focus for Fox during this years Television CriticsAssociation Press Tour. Creator Ryan Murphy was on hand to answer questions about how the show would handle its sophomore season and beyond. According to Murphy, four seasons have been mapped out with the original cast -- answering a burning question of whether Glee would ignore the passage of time for its high school characters.
Murphy confirmed that themed episodes will continue to be a regular part of the show, as will big musical names. An episode focused on Britney Spears ("Britney, Britney, Britney") has already been revealed at San Diego Comic-Con. Murphy also mentioned that Matthew Morrison (Will Schuester) didnt take kindly to that Britney episode -- an idea which will be worked into the story line itself.
The big musical news at the TCA tour was that Paul McCartney contacted Murphy himself : with a few song suggestions. Murphy said that he will, of course, take up that unbelievable offer.
