Former Dallas Cowboys Coach Confirmed For 'Survivor'
Jimmy Johnson, a self-proclaimed fan of the CBS reality show, is now a part of it
Fans have clamored for a celebrity edition of "Survivor" since the show's beginning a decade ago. And while the closest has been the regular all-star editions using past "Survivor" contestants, fans will be in for a treat this fall.
CBS confirmed rumors circulating in recent weeks that National Football League sportscaster and former professional coach Jimmy Johnson is trying his hand at "Survivor," joining 19 other castaways in Nicaragua.
Johnson, who has publicly stated his love for the show, is a member of the Espada tribe, according to a release. At 67, he's the oldest player competing this season, although his tribe will also have Dan Lembo, a 63-year-old real estate executive.
In fact, it looks like it will be older vs. younger this season, as the youngest member of the Espada tribe is Yve Rojas, a 41-year-old homemaker, while the oldest members of La Flor are Shannon Elkins and Matthew "Sash" Lenahan at 30. Elkins is a co-owner of a pest control company in Lafayette, La., while Lenahan is a real estate broker in New York City.
Other castaways include:
