'Glee' Creator Talks Britney Spears
Episode will focus on singer's music instead of her personal life
Fox's "Glee" is proving itself the king of buzz these days as it offers up a smorgasbord of news, including recent hints about the Sept. 28 episode featuring Britney Spears.
"Glee" creator Ryan Murphy cleared up some rumors and teased the plot for the episode, titled "Britney, Britney, Britney," during an interview on Ryan Seacrest's radio show Tuesday.
Several of the Glee Club kids "have to go get their teeth cleaned, some under anesthesia, and that's when the fun Britney stuff happens," Murphy said.
Rumors of any head-shaving during the episode are false, according to Murphy. The episode will be "reverential," he insists, focusing on Spears' music instead of her personal life.
"I want to do something that says 'thank you for what you've done and we're encouraging you to continue to be doing as fantastic as you are,'" Murphy explained.
Meanwhile, there's good news for Puck fans. The hunky bad boy's alter-ego, actor-musician Mark Salling, told Seacrest that his album, "Pipe Dreams," will drop Oct. 12. Salling debuted the new single Higher Power from the new album on the same show.
Finally, Jane Lynch will host "Saturday Night Live" on NBC Oct. 9, according to Movieline.
