A-Listers Lining Up For 'Glee' Roles?

Hollywood's hottest starts are apparently dying to appear on spectacular series

Next week, the all-singing, all-dancing Fox series will see pop princess Britney Spears make an appearance in an episode that will allow "Glee's" very own Brittney (Heather Morris) a chance to shine.

However, Spears isn't the only big name interested in appearing on the series.

"Iron Man" actress Gwyneth Paltrow has recently signed on to appear in the series when Mr. Schu (Matthew Morrison) is unable to attend class and a substitute is called in. While in McKinley High, Paltrow will be subbing more than just Spanish class and will soon take over New Directions.

To mix things up a little, Mr. Schu will soon start to fall for Paltrow, putting his budding relationship with neurotic counsellor Emma Pillsbury (Jayma Mays) at risk.

"Gwyneth Paltrow is going to come and do an episode soon, which is amazing," series creator Ryan Murphy told BANG Showbiz. "Having her come on the show is pretty much a dream come true - she's always been one of my dream guests."

Breakout Scottish singer Susan Boyle, who was discovered through "Britain's Got Talent," is also expected to appear in the second season as a singing lunch-lady. She is due to appear in the series for a festive themed episode. Jennifer Lopez, who is no stranger to the stage, has also signed on for a part on the show and will also be part of the school canteen staff.

Meanwhile, Zac Efron (who is perhaps best known for his role in Disney's High School Musical franchise) has revealed that he would love to appear on the show, but hasn't been contacted about making an appearance.

"They havent asked me yet: I think itd be really fun," he said, according to Digital Spy. "Theyre doing a great job of the show. Yeah, absolutely [I would appear]."

His comments cast quash rumors that he was already being lined up for a recurring role in the second season as Kurt's Gleek boyfriend. The same rumor puts the actor up against another Disney tween, Joe Jonas, who is preparing for an appearance on The CW series, "90210."

Music icons Madonna and Lady Gaga are also both rumoured to be entering the series for an on-screen role later this year.

"Glee" airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET on Fox.
