'Hellcats,' 'Nikita' Given Full Seasons
The CW also gives additional order to vet. series 'One Tree Hill'
Hot on the heels of CBS which gave full orders to entire freshman line-up, The CW has now done the same and given full season orders for both Hellcats and Nikita.
Partnered with The CWs heaviest hitters, both shows have been strong performers for the network with Hellcats averaging 2.5 million viewers (with a 1.2./4 share in the 18-34 demographic) and Nikita hitting 3.6 million. Nikita has become the second most watch series on the network, following on from its lead-in, The Vampire Diaries.
Former WB series One Tree Hill, which is now on its eighth season, has also been given a full season order and has again proven to be a ratings winner.
"By giving our two freshman series and proven performer One Tree Hillfull orders, well be able to continue our success and momentum throughout the rest of the season," CW entertainment president Dawn Ostroff said in a statement.
However, its not all star jumps and cartwheels at The CW as Life Unexpected looks like the next show to be hit with cancelation. The show has plummeted in the ratings and now ranks as The CWs lowest series. There have been reports that an additional script order has been made but this does not guarantee the scripts will move into production.
A new pilot, Danni Lowinski, has already been given the greenlight and is moving into production as a mid-season replacement. It will likely fill the Life Unexpected slot if the series is indeed bumped from the schedule.

Fast Nationals usually provide a snapshot of what Americans are watching by pulling numbers from the top urban markets that include both live viewing and same-day timeshifted viewing. A rating point generally represents more than 1.1 million households while the share indicates the percentage of televisions turned on that was tuned to the specific program. These numbers typically shift when final ratings are issued.
