'The Walking Dead' Stalking DVD, Blu-Ray This March
Series broke records last fall
After enjoying success last fall on AMC, "The Walking Dead" is now looking to take a healthy bite from the DVD and Blu-ray market.
Anchor Bay Entertainment will release Season 1 of the show March 8. It will feature all six episodes on a two-disc set packed with special behind-the-scenes featurettes and extra footage.
"The Walking Dead" broke ratings records when it premiered Halloween night, reaching more adults 18 to 49 than any other show in the history of cable television.
Hailed it as one of the best new series of the year, the series was recently nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Television Series -- Drama.
Based on Robert Kirkman's acclaimed comic, the tragic tale follows a police officer from a small Kentucky town who leads his family and a group of survivors across the country in search of a safe home.
Frank Darabont ("The Shawshank Redemption," "The Green Mile") wrote and directed the pilot, with Gale Anne Hurd ("Aliens," "The Terminator") of Valhalla Motion Pictures and David Alpert of Circle of Confusion executive producing along with Darabont and Kirkman.
