Tim Allen Returns Home
"Home Improvement" star back at network
Tim Allen is returning to primetime television.
The sought-after comedic actor will star in a new ABC pilot, tentatively titled “The Last Days of Man.”
“The Last Days of Man” follows the adventures of Tim Fitzgerald, a guy’s guy fighting for his manhood in a world that is being increasingly dominated by women.
The multi-camera comedy is penned by the Emmy-winning Jack Burditt (“The Mike O’Malley Show,” “Inside Schwartz”). The show will be produced by 20th Century Fox TV and Lost Marbles.
In the 1990s, Allen’s portrayal of Tim “The Tool Man” Taylor on the classic comedy “Home Improvement” helped propel ABC to a position as the number one network.
In recent years, Allen has been showing up more on the big screen. He’s best known as the voice of “Buzz Lightyear” in Disney and Pixar's Toy Story trilogy. He also starred in “Galaxy Quest,” "The Santa Clause" and its sequels and several other family comedy films.
He was also recently announced as the star of Disney's "Jungle Cruise," the big-screen adaptation of the popular theme park attraction. Allen will reteam with his "Toy Story" co-star Tom Hanks for the project.
